Journalism:
Since first interviewing the lovely Dave
Gorman for Fused
Magazine at the end of 2000, I've had around 500 articles published,
mostly about comedy or classical music for four regions of The Metro.
Most
of these take the form of 250 word previews, but I've also been lukcy enough to interview
many comics including Perrier Award Winners Tommy Tiernan and Jenny Éclair, Phil Kay, Boothby
Graffoe and Susan and Janice, and from the world of music, Lady
Walton (widow of Sir
William Walton), Claude-Michel Schonberg (composer of Les Miserables
and Miss Saigon), Opera Impressario Ellen
Kent and godlike genius and ex-Beach Boy Brian
Wilson.
Here's a small selection of articles I've had published
for your downloadable viewing pleasure: Adam
Hills, Addy Borgh and Sean Percival, Baxxter,
Hidden, Johnny
Vegas, Marcus
Brigstocke.
Fiction:
Tho I haven't written any for years, I've had a couple
of short stories published in fiction magazines both in the UK and the
US. I tended to use the short story form to explore some of the darker
ideas meandering around my mind, so be warned if you come across one,
its not exactly upbeat stuff! When my PC crashed last year I lost the
electronic versions of the the stories, but I'll type one up sometime
for your delectation.
TV:
A friend and I have recently finished the synopsis
of our first TV project and are seeking a development deal to take things
further.
Books:
Some books I've particularly enjoyed lately.
Scepticism Inc - Bo Fowler - a brilliantly funny take on religion, philosophy and betting.
The Selfish Gene - Prof Richard Dawkins - Its like he's the first person to really think through Darwin's amazing revelations.
